If you had doubts before tonight’s fight, I think you got most of your questions answered. Brock Lesnar just proved that he is the real deal.
Some are going to say, “Big deal. He beat an old man.” Maybe so, but Randy Couture is a freak of nature himself. He said after the fight that he still feels he is getting stronger and better as a fighter. If you can say that after getting thumped by an animal like Brock Lesnar, you are a warrior and a fighter like none other. That man has heart, and I think whoever fights him next is in big trouble. My personal wish would be to see him at 205 again.
As for Lesnar, here’s something to consider: he’s the worst he’s ever gonna be. From here on, it’s nothing but improvement. This entire sport is new to him. He’s learning at break neck speed and training full time. Nogueira might have a chance to stop him with his incredible Jiu Jitsu; we all remember when Big Nog nearly snapped Bob Sapp’s arm off, and Sapp is just as strong as Lesnar, if not stronger. The difference is that Sapp was just a steroid pumping circus show. Lesnar is a clean, legit fighter who is on top of the world. The heavyweight division is gonna be in trouble for a long, long time.
